At least 15% of gas stations across France are now reporting shortages of petrol or diesel, according to Energynews. In the Paris region it's worse. France Info reported nearly 31% of stations in Paris proper have supply issues, 39% in Val-de-Marne, and 48% in Hauts-de-Seine. Diesel is the main problem.
The number of stations either running low or completely sold out has tripled over the past week. French hauliers organized a go-slow protest on the Paris ring road demanding government fuel aid, Euronews reported. TotalEnergies froze pump prices as a gesture, but that doesn't help if there's nothing left to pump. The Macron government continues to deny there's a shortage.
The numbers say otherwise.
