Netanyahu authorized direct negotiations with Lebanon on April 10, but in the same breath said there is no ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. On April 8, hours after the US-Iran truce was announced, Israel launched what it called its "most strong attacks" across Lebanon, killing at least 357 people. Lebanon called it Black Wednesday. On April 10, another wave of strikes killed 28 more, including 13 Lebanese State Security officers.
Iran says Lebanon is covered by the ceasefire, Israel says it isn't. Trump reportedly told Netanyahu to dial it back. Talks between Israel and Lebanon are now expected next week at the State Department in Washington. The contradiction is wild.
